Beginning of learning curve

My wife and I just purchased a 1976 Hunter (for a song), I have read everything I can read and still have a lot ot learn.  How does one determine if a boat is a Cherubini, and would anyone have anything akin to an owners manual for a 1976 30'.  It needs a lot of work, but for what we paid for it its a steal.

the 30 foot Cherubini was manufactured from 74 to 83.

I appreciate the info, anything else you can offer would be appreciated

is little more than a sales brochure. I bought my H30 last summer and have started the process of repairs and upgrades.  I have found that a manual for the engine is a top priority item. This site is an excellent source of information since each system, repair, or upgrade comes with a unique set of problems and considerations--ask questions and you will receive assistance.  I'm listed in the directory and will offer what I can. Congratulations on becoming the owner of a Hunter Cherubini.

Be sure to check Eric Lindstrom's site dedicated to the H30(Related Link).  The first page has an introduction from John Cherubini II, the designer's son.  See Related Link. Over the years there have been numerous sites that contained quot;the manualquot;.  It was several pages of information and diagrams covering all of the Cherubinis.  Presently none of my links are valid.  But many of us have captured some or all of those pages on our hard drives.  If you have a specific question about an area then someone probably has the answer, including pictures or diagrams. I agree with Mike, the Yanmar manual is invaluable.

I can send you a .pdf file with all of the circuits, systems and plumbing diagrams for most of the early Hunters. Contact me by e-mail, I'm in the Owners directory.

I woudl appreciate a copy of the .pdf files as well.  My wife and I just bought a 1976 30' and it needs a lot of work, and we want to make sure its right
